Magic tips
Here are some general tips which are valid for all vocations:
- You cannot use magic or buy spells until you have reached the mainland and therefore have decided for a vocation.
- Upon arrival in Thais you should visit Xodet in the east part of town and purchase a spellbook. This book can be used to look up the words for the spells you have bought.
- Just say "hi Xodet", and then
- "buy spellbook".
- Xodet will ask you if you really want to buy the book for 150gp. You answer "yes" to confirm the deal (if you HAVE 150gp, that is!).
- Now return to your depot and leave the spellbook in there. You won't need to carry it around.
- How to buy a spell:
- Walk to your guild master and say "spell".
- Your guild master will tell you the magic levels he or she sells spells for. If you are buying your first spell, you need to ask for level "0". You will then hear a list of all the spells avaiable for this level.
- To choose a spell, just repeat its name. The guild master will ask you to confirm the deal by saying "yes".
- If you carry enough gold, you will now have learned this spell. To learn the magic formula for a spell, either check your spellbook or the spell list here at the WoT.
- At first, only buy the spells you really need - they are expensive!
- Keep some extra runes in your depot. It is advisable to have about 10 of every frequently used rune in your depot.
- This way, you can always sell to potential customers without them having to wait for you to create them.
- You also have the runes as an emergency reserve in case of unforeseen conflicts.
- Rune prices nowadays are unfortunately lower than the mana cost. To effectively sell runes, you have to create them without mana fluids, just by eating food.
- You should always carry a few blank runes, so you can use the mana you have immediately, and don't waste any of it.
