Account
To play Tibia, you need to sign up for an account. After that, you can create characters and then enter the game. To create an account, follow these simple instructions:
1. Sign up
Go to http://www.tibia.com and click "signup".
Now you will be asked to read a few things (terms of use and rules), just click "Continue", "I agree" and "Accept".
Then you have to enter an email address. This address has to be valid, because the password of your account will be sent by email.
You will then be assigned an account number. This is a number from 100000 to 999999.
It is important that you save that number in some way - it's best to write it down in real life and not store it on the computer, to help prevent character hacking.
Then open your mail client (or your webmail service's website) and check for new mail.
Normally the automatical email from CIP arrives within a minute, but it could also take longer, there's no need to get worried if it hasn't arrived yet.
2. Download
While you are waiting for your password, you should download the client software. Read the instructions on that page.
3. Log in
As soon as you recieved your password, log into the account system with the account number you got before and the password sent to you by email.
Here you should change your password by clicking "Change password".
Then, click "Create new character" at the bottom of the page. You will be asked to select a name (you can also have the system propose some names if you can't think of any)
and the gender of your character. Clicking "Submit" creates your new character!
Now you can start the client program and log in with your character.
